The most expensive route is franchise with the second being Smart Repair supply companies. Being absolutely honest some of the supply companies offer excellent packages at reasonable prices which you will be advised about. The simplest, most cost effective approach is to look at independent training with a professional on a 1 to 1 basis. You can also choose what skills you want to learn and the level at which you feel comfortable enough to move on to the next skill. You may wish to space your training out to make it affordable whilst you carry on in your current employment. whichever way you choose what you get is honest advice on your abilities and unbiased choice in materials with no pressure to purchase the latest "best system on earth". Basically you will have the choice of what materials will be available to you locally or by mail order which is often missed. Mail order can be a real source of irritation when you need something quick for a job but your supplier is 200 miles away. We have probably experienced most systems on the market with few exceptions so you need not worry. We will advise on choice of equipment and materials which will best suit not only your abilities but more importantly your budget. The truth is not everyone can be disciplined enough or adapt to the skills needed to carry out repairs under the conditions you will be working.
